If you live greater than 35 minutes but less than 1 hour 15 minutes from Staunton, VA, you are eligible for hybrid care. These include the following eligible locations:

What can I expect when receiving care in the hybrid model?
Current research shows that for many women, virtual prenatal and postpartum visits are highly satisfying. Within the hybrid model, you’ll get 10-11 virtual prenatal visits, and 6-7 in-home prenatal and postpartum/newborn visits with Heather, and 2 in-home ultrasounds.
8 weeks: In-home first trimester ultrasound with our ultrasound technician to confirm your pregnancy and due date. A virtual visit can be done for concerns regarding first trimester if desired.
12 weeks: In-home meeting with Heather for a physical assessment, bloodwork, and to listen to the baby’s heartbeat. Heather will provide you with a blood pressure cuff, fetal doppler, ultrasound gel, a scale, and urine test strips to gather information right before or during future virtual visits.
16 weeks: Virtual visit
20 weeks: Virtual visit
22 weeks: In-home ultrasound with our ultrasound technician to check baby’s growth and anatomy
24 weeks: Virtual visit
28 weeks: In-home visit with Heather for belly check and blood work (glucose test for gestational diabetes, administration of Rhogam injection for clients with Rh negative blood type)
32 weeks: Virtual visit
34 weeks: Virtual visit
36 weeks: In-home visit with Heather for Group B Strep test, belly check for position, and fundal height. A scale is given to do weight checks on baby at home after the birth.
37 weeks: Virtual visit
38 weeks: Virtual visit
39 weeks: In-home visit with Heather for position check and and fundal height.
40 weeks: Virtual visit
41 weeks: In-home visit with Heather and our ultrasound technician for a check on baby’s health. Discuss options for induction naturally or in the hospital prior to 42 weeks.
Here is the outline of postpartum visits for both mom and baby:
1 week: In-home visit to assess mom and baby
2 week: Virtual visit
6 week: In-home visit for physical assessment, Pap smear if due.
12 week: Virtual visit, optional
No trips to see a pediatrician until baby is 8 weeks old, unless a problem arises!
Comprehensive package fee for hybrid prenatal, postpartum, and newborn care: $4,200
Includes 2 ultrasounds, blood work and lab fees, all virtual and in-home visits, rental of equipment, and direct access to Heather throughout pregnancy and postpartum. This pricing is for planned hospital births at Sentara RMH, Augusta Health, and UVA.
*Additional in-home ultrasounds are $275 each. Rhogam injection is $120. Additional in-home visits are $225/visit.
*Add $2,800 for a home birth with Heather.
